WESTERN NORTH PACIFIC AREA (180 TO MALAY PENINSULA): A. TROPICAL CYCLONE SUMMARY: NONE. B. TROPICAL DISTURBANCE SUMMARY: (1) THE AREA OF CONVECTION (INVEST 93W) PREVIOUSLY LOCATED NEAR 12.3N 125.2E IS NOW LOCATED NEAR 12.0N 123.5E, APPROXIMATELY 70 NM SOUTHWEST OF LEGAZPI. ANIMATED ENHANCED INFRARED SATELLITE IMAGERY (EIR) DEPICTS A FULLY EXPOSED AND RAGGED LOW-LEVEL CIRCULATION (LLC) WITH WEAKENED CONVECTION DISPLACED NORTHWEST OF THE LLCC. A 070118Z ASCAT METOP-B 25KM IMAGE DEPICTS THE BROAD NATURE OF THE CIRCULATION AS IT TRANSITS THROUGH THE PHILIPPINES AND INCREASED FRICTIONAL EFFECTS DETERIORATE THE CIRCULATION CENTER. ANALYSIS OF THE ENVIRONMENT INDICATES THE SYSTEM HAS DRIFTED INTO AN AREA OF HIGH VERTICAL WIND SHEAR (25-30 KTS). SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURES REMAIN WARM (29-30 C) AND DRY AIR ENTRAINMENT CAN BE ANALYZED TO THE EAST OF 93W. GLOBAL DETERMINISTIC MODELS AND ENSEMBLES ARE IN GOOD AGREEMENT THAT 93W WILL CONTINUE TO CROSS OVER THE PHILIPPINES AND INTERACT WITH THE COLD SURGE, BUT WILL STRUGGLE TO CONSOLIDATE AS IT MOVES INTO THE SOUTH CHINA SEA. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED SURFACE WINDS ARE ESTIMATED AT 15 TO 20 KNOTS. MINIMUM SEA LEVEL PRESSURE IS ESTIMATED TO BE NEAR 1005 MB. Thunderstorm Advisory No. 7 #VISPRSD Issued at 08:03 AM 08 December 2025 Moderate to Heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over #Leyte(Babatngon), #Samar(SantaRita, Basey, Marabut) and #EasternSamar(Guiuan) within the next 30 minutes to an hour. The above conditions are being experienced in #Leyte(SanMiguel, Alangalang, TaclobanCity, SantaFe and Palo) which may persist within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas. All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides. Keep monitoring for updates.
